   1. About the Library

With a total construction area of 29,000 square meters, the Library offers library information resources, network services and security, and file management. It functions as not only an important institution for teaching and scientific research, one crucial component of the College's information construction, but also an important campus culture base, playing a significant role in the talent development and scientific research of the College.


The Library houses extensive collections: more than 2 million Chinese and foreign books, nearly 1,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, plenty of databases such as CNKI and Superstar Mobile Library, and it also enjoys access to electronic resources of Sun Yat-sen University Library. Our library owns a wide range of facilities – nearly 3,000 study seats, more than 110 retrieval and service terminals, a lecture hall, exhibition rooms, special exhibition rooms.


Readers can check out as many items as they like, and no overdue fines will be charged. Our library is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and it also sets up a reader service center so as to provide readers with a diversified one-stop reader-oriented service.


The Library establishes a proposal system and a project one, providing a practice platform so as to involve readers in solving problems; it also implements a mechanism which fully involves students in library management and service, in order to enhance their service awareness and problem-solving skills, and to create a first-class student service team.


Our library strives to become a first-class library, with its core concept of “value & satisfaction” and its mission of “solving problems and creating value” as a backdrop.

   2.Organizational Structure

The Library is divided into four sections and 14 posts.

General Services Section

Its responsibilities are dealing with the daily routines of the Library; offering the reader services. The Section offers the following posts: general service post, reader service post, and education technology post.

Collection Development Section

The responsibilities of the Section include the collections of information resources such as subject collections and electronic resources collections; providing consultant, instructional as well as research support, reading promotion. The Section offers the following posts: resource construction, collection cataloging, newspaper services, consulting services, reading promotion.

Network Technical Support Center

The fundamental work of the Center is to offer the following services: network security, internet connection, software operation and maintenance, PC volunteering, campus cards. The posts include network security, network information, system operation & maintenance, application service.

Archives Office

The duty of the Office is to keep files of students, graduates, teachers, departments and sections, etc. It is composed of file service post and file information pos
