Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education announced the list of Provincial-Level Demonstrative Modern Industry Colleges (2025-2028). NCG's JD Intelligent Supply Chain Modern Industry College has been selected as one of the 15 newly recognized provincial-level demonstrative colleges, marking the university’s first achievement in this category. This milestone signifies a major breakthrough in advancing university-enterprise collaboration and deepening the integration of industry and education.
Established in collaboration with JD Group, the college focuses on the digital transformation of modern service industries and the evolving demands of e-commerce and logistics sectors. Leveraging NCG’s strengths in management and economics disciplines, the college prioritizes key areas such as smart logistics management, big data analysis and application, and e-commerce operations. It aims to cultivate application-oriented talents proficient in data utilization, e-commerce logistics, and collaborative innovation, establishing a model for mutually beneficial partnerships among universities, enterprises, industrial parks, and academia.
Guided by the principles of “discipline leadership, service demand, industry-education integration, and resource sharing,” the college operates under a “co-consultation, co-management, co-construction, and co-sharing” model. Innovative mechanisms have been implemented, including industry-education/scientific-education collaborative talent development, quality assurance frameworks, a two-way faculty exchange system, and shared resource platforms. These initiatives foster deep integration in specialty co-development, joint research bases, interdisciplinary teams, resource sharing, collaborative achievements, talent cultivation, and shared responsibilities, driving the convergence of science, education, and industry.
Since its establishment in 2021, the college has achieved remarkable progress in industry-education integration and collaborative talent development. Key accomplishments include:
• Talent Cultivation: Launched a JD “Seedling Class”,training over 500 students.
• Specialty Development: Established four joint programs, with one recognized as a national-level top-tier specialty (E-commerce) and two as provincial-level top-tier specialties.
• Curriculum Development: Six courses approved as national/provincial-level top-tier courses; eight industry-education integrated courses developed; four co-authored textbooks published.
• Teaching and Research Achievements: Six projects funded under the Ministry of Education’s Collaborative Talent Development Program; over 30 teaching reform initiatives; six national/provincial teaching case studies selected.
• Platform Empowerment: Established a 3,000-square-meter JD Industry-Education Integration Demonstration Base and the Nanfang Innovation Valley Entrepreneurship Base, providing robust support for student internships and research.
This recognition as a Provincial-Level Demonstrative Modern Industry College underscores NCG’s success in aligning educational, talent, industrial, and innovation chains. Moving forward, the university will leverage this accolade to refine university-enterprise collaboration mechanisms, focusing on cutting-edge industry technologies and precision talent development.
