Nanfang College, Guangzhou’s Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral

Nanfang College, Guangzhou’s Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral took place in the Grand Auditorium. Over 5,000 graduates completed their studies triumphantly, embarking on new futures witnessed by mentors, family, and friends.

Presiding Professors

Academician Tang Tao, Chair of the Academic Degree Committee and President of Nanfang College; Professor Fu Ailan, Vice Chair and Executive Vice President; University leadership representatives, and faculty delegates from all schools attended as presiding professors. The conferral ceremony was hosted by Professor Fu Ailan.

The ceremony commenced with the solemn national anthem. All faculty and students stood in reverence, singing in unison.

Address by President Tang Tao: "Anchoring Life’s Coordinates in the Tide of Our Times"

At this parting hour, President Tang delivered his "final lesson." Drawing from exemplary graduates’ stories, he explored how to anchor life’s direction through three lenses: outlook on happiness, learning, and holistic vision.

President Tang emphasized that in Nanfang College’s evaluation system, "excellence has infinite dimensions—yet integrity paired with talent remains the necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal solution." His parting counsel: Face life with optimism: neither complacent in victory nor defeated in failure. Resist haste and short-term temptations; uphold long-termism. Evolve with the times through continuous learning. Champion both national pride and global vision, fueling the Greater Bay Area’s rise with youthful vigor.

Voices of the Ceremony

Reflecting on her transformative journey, Huang expressed gratitude for mentors’ guidance and peer camaraderie. "This college gifted not just knowledge, but the courage to innovate, think independently, and collaborate." She pledged to uphold the college motto, strive for societal impact, and honor her alma mater. To underclassmen, she urged: "Treasure time, leverage resources, conquer challenges."

Sharing his career insights, Zhang noted: "Every choice bears challenges; greatness blooms from daily accumulation." He advised graduates to shatter anxiety through presence, self-enrichment, and bold action. His poetic blessing: "Let bygones be bygones; the future remains yours to seize— a thousand rivers merge at sea; winds are fair—set sail boldly!"

Parent Representative: Mr. Li Libing Extending gratitude to the college, Li shared three life principles: Cultivate systems thinking. Preserve the courage to innovate. Embrace collaboration. His charge to graduates: "Nurture curiosity, daring, and passion—let your unique light shine!"

Professor Chen heralded graduates entering an era transformed by AI and life sciences, armed with three shields forged in university: resilience, adaptability, and human warmth. "Stand firm with resilience, navigate with adaptability, and let human kindness guard your spirit’s flame as you sail uncharted waters."

Celebration & Conferral

Graduates and faculty then performed "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies" and "Those Flowers," filling the milestone celebration with warmth and jubilation.

After grandure performance, Executive Vice President Fu Ailan announced: The Conferral of Bachelor’s Degrees to the Class of 2025, The Recognition of Outstanding Graduates of 2025.
