NCG has established a cooperative tie with Yunkang Group since 2016, jointly founding the Yunkang Department of Medicine and Health Management (upgraded to Yunkang School of Medicine and Health in 2019). The college offers a full-time undergraduate program in Medical Laboratory Technology, building a two-way collaborative education platform linking the university and enterprise. This partnership fully leverages the resources and advantages of the enterprise, industry and the university, resulting in a deeply integrated educational approach among the three parties.
Yunkang focuses on enhancing industry-based practical teaching, through strengthening internships and practical training. The company innovates university-industry cooperation mechanisms through dispatching key personnel to serve and teach at NCG. Leveraging its corporate resources and capabilities, Yunkang aligns internship and training courses with international industry standards. This approach has led to the initial building of a cultivation model to medical laboratory professionals that meets actual industrial needs.
To date, the program has enrolled 713 undergraduate students majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology, becoming one of the most popular majors at NCG among candidates and their parents. The employment rate for the 2020 graduates exceeded 80%, and since 2021, the average annual employment rate has consistently surpassed 90%. The majority of graduates secure positions in Grade II hospitals and above, as well as in renowned industry enterprises. Notably, over 40% of students managed to find jobs in prestigious Grade III hospitals, while more than 20% work for third-party testing companies.
In 2020, the Medical Laboratory Technology major was designated as a provincial-level distinctive program. Furthermore, the "Guangdong Province Clinical Testing Engineering Technology Research Center for Infectious Diseases and Birth Defects", jointly applied and established by NCG and Yunkang Group, was recognized as a Guangdong Province Engineering Technology Research Center in 2021.
