University of Dundee Teams Visited Nanfang College, Guangzhou

Professor Morris Altman, Dean of the School of Business, Ms. Zhang Yin, the lecturer and Dr. Gavin Ge, the China Strategic Project Manager of University of Dundee visited Nanfang College, Guangzhou on April 16th. Professor Liu Wenbin, the Vice President of NCG warmly received the guests in the Expert Building, where the two sides conducted in-depth and friendly exchanges. Professor Zhang Yubing, Deputy Dean of the School of Business, Chai Jin, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges and other relevant faculties attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Vice President Liu Wenbin introduced the basic situation, achievements of international education and future development plan of NCG. He stressed his appreciation for the visit from University of Dundee and the promotion of inter-university cooperation, and wished the cooperation a great success. He hoped that the two sides will establish a long-term and stable cooperative relation to jointly train outstanding talents with international vision.

Dean Morris Altman expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and spoke highly of the achievements of NCG. He then introduced in detail the strengths of the University of Dundee in educational resources, faculty and research fields, hoping that the two sides could consolidate cooperation to jointly promote the development of student education.

The two sides discussed thoroughly during the talks on issues including students’ joint-training, credits’ mutual recognition and short-term visit project. Feasibility of the cooperation between the two business schools to carry out “3+1” undergraduate and postgraduate study program were also put forward, accompanied by cooperative issues including teachers’ visit and exchange and others. Preliminary consensus was reached at the talks.

The two sides exchanged gifts and took photos after the meeting. Vice President Liu Wenbin had lunch with Dean Morris Altman and his team and had further conversation on cooperation issues. This visit has not only deepened the friendship and understanding between NCG and the University of Dundee, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two colleges. We believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation in international exchanges and education will become closer and deeper, contributing to the cultivation of more outstanding talents with international competitiveness.

Dean Morris Altman and his team held a fantastic lecture in Room 101 of B1 Teaching Building on promoting University of Dundee in the afternoon. Professor Zhang Yubing and Xiao Yuzhong, Deputy Dean and lecturer of the School of Business, Chai Jin, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges and other relevant faculties attended the lecture.

At the lecture, Dean Morris Altman introduced in detail the geographical location, campus environment, education quality and other aspects of the University of Dundee to the students. He underscored the importance of language learning in international communication. Attended students actively asked questions and Dean Morris Altman had them answered carefully, bringing the atmosphere at the lecture a great heat.

The lecture has not only allowed students of NCG to have a clearer understanding to University of Dundee, but also set foot for further cooperation between the two colleges. Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges will continue to enhance collaborations between NCG and other internationally renowned universities, providing more opportunities and resources of high-quality international exchanges for teachers and students.
