Co-manage foreign cooperation and exchange, and promoting & opening up of education to the outside world - nearly 300 representatives from 147 colleges and universities in the province gathered at the Southern College of Sun Yat-Sen University.

 From April 25th to 26th, the Guangdong University's 2019 expansion of education and opening up seminars and exchanges and the 2019 annual university international exchanges and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs annual work conference were successfully held at the Southern College of Sun Yat-Sen University.  Zhu Chaohua, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and other leaders, Professor Cai Chunlin from the Guangdong University of Technology, Professor Yu Shiyou, president of the Southern University of Sun Yat-sen University, attended the meeting.  This event is the highest level of education openness theme activity held in our province in recent years. Leaders of 147 universities in the province and the head of the International Office (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office) in addition to nearly 300 representatives have gathered together to attend this event. The attendees thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Guangdong important speechs.  Furthermore, the attendees reviewed the international cooperation and exchange work of colleges and universities in our province and discussed the internationalization development strategy of colleges and universities, working together and sharing suggestions to start a new era of education and in the opening-up of the province.

On the afternoon of April 25th, in 2019, the commencement of the discussion activities of the opening-up of education in Guangdong Province were launched in the music hall of our school.  The president of our school, Yu Shiyou, delivered the commencement speech. The leaders and guests of the Provincial Department of Education made a keynote speech on the opening-up of education, the construction of the “ Belt and Road,” and the construction of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Grand-Bay District.  On April 26th, 2019 the university international exchanges and cooperation, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan affairs annual work conference was held at our school.  During the meeting, Jinan University, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dongguan Institute of Technology and Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational and Technical College were respectively engaged in international exchanges and experience sharing in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.  Subsequently, the participants were divided into four groups to actively exchange and discuss the foreign cooperation practices and achievements, the next work plan, the existing problems, and the promotion strategies, and put forward many original thinking and advice on the formations of the international exchange work of our university.

 Finally, the commendation ceremony of the Foreign Expert Committee of the Guangdong Higher Education Society was held on the spot.  So far, this meeting has come to a successful ending.
